Tribology in Industry is open access, peer reviewed international journal with a primary objective to provide the academic community and industry for the submission of original research and applications related to tribology.

The journal was founded in 1979 by the Yugoslav Tribology Society (now Serbian Tribology Society).

Tribology in Industry journal publishes original research papers and review articles in all aspects of the science of friction, wear and lubrication.

The aim of Tribology in Industry journal is to publish quality experimental and theoretical research papers in fields of the science of friction, wear and lubrication and any closely related fields.

The scope includes all aspects of materials science, surface science, applied physics and mechanical engineering which relate directly to the subjects of friction, wear and lubrication.

Topical areas include, but are not limited to: Friction, Wear, Lubricants, Surface characterization, Surface engineering, Nanotribology, Contact mechanics, Coatings, Alloys, Composites, Tribological design, Biotribology, Green Tribology.

This publications gives a short history of the Serbian Tribology Society, a review of the Society activities over the last 17 years, as well as the future trends and challenges that stands in front of the Society. An interesting thing within this publications is a reprint of a paper (just most interesting parts), one of the first written in serbian language, that speaks about machine parts wear. The original of the paper is printed in 1934, in a engineering journal: Технички лист.
