The Serbian Tribology Society is a professional and scientific association dedicated to the development, promotion and application of tribology in Serbia and internationally.
The Serbian Tribology Society brings together researchers, university professors, engineers, students, laboratories, companies and professionals interested in friction, wear, lubrication, surface engineering and related engineering disciplines.
Founded in 1993 by Prof. Branko Ivković, the Society was known as the Yugoslav Tribology Society until 2007. Today, it is a member of the International Tribology Council and the Balkan Tribological Association.
The Society supports the exchange of scientific and professional knowledge, encourages cooperation between academia and industry, and promotes the practical application of tribological principles in mechanical systems, production technologies, maintenance, materials engineering and industrial development.
Through conferences, publishing activities, expert meetings and cooperation with institutions, the Society contributes to the visibility of Serbian tribology and strengthens international links with researchers and organizations in the field.
The Society aims to improve the understanding and application of tribology as an important engineering discipline with direct impact on reliability, energy efficiency, sustainability and the lifetime of mechanical systems.
To promote tribology research, education and professional cooperation between universities, institutes and industry.
To be a recognized regional center for tribology knowledge, innovation, publishing and international collaboration.
Scientific quality, professional integrity, openness, cooperation, engineering relevance and support for young researchers.
Connecting researchers and institutions working in tribology, materials, lubrication and surface engineering.
Supporting scientific and professional events, including SERBIATRIB and other tribology conferences.
Supporting the publication of high-quality research through journals and conference proceedings.
Encouraging the application of tribological knowledge in maintenance, design, production and industrial systems.
